The Prism Neuro Testing Service is designed to help you perform at your best and to reduce your risk of injuries.  Our service measures and monitors how well your brain controls your body’s movement. We call this, Movement Control Metrics.  Research shows that better movement control means you are likely to perform better, and you are less likely to be injured.  If your scores are low, your club or Physio might recommend that you do some exercises to bring them up.

HOW WE PROVIDE MOVEMENT CONTROL METRICS - We will conduct baseline testing and may also test you throughout the season.  The sessions will take about 10-15 minutes. After a session we will analyse the data we collect from you and summarise it in a report. We will provide these results to you or your club if they signed you up.  Please see attached PRIVACY POLICY about the information we collect.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TESTING - We will ask some background questions such as your current activity level, and any recent injuries or past injuries.

We will then test the three systems that are responsible for providing information to your brain to allow it to send accurate movement control signals to your body.  These systems are:

·      The proprioceptive system – provides information about your body position using joint and muscle sensors,

·      The visual system – provides information about your surroundings, such as what is near you, is it moving, how fast is it moving,

·      The vestibular system (your inner ear) – provides information about your orientation, your rotation, your speed and acceleration – which way is up.

We use two pieces of hardware to conduct the tests.  A device that you stand on to deliver the proprioceptive test, and a virtual reality headset to deliver the visual-vestibular testing.

Visual-Vestibular Testing

You will be asked to look at targets in the VR Headset while your eye movements are recorded.

Proprioceptive Testing

You will be asked to stand on a device, rotate the central plate with your foot, and report the position you feel.

We look forward to working with you.  Contact info@prismneuro.com if you have any questions.

 Sincerely,
